“It’s been an exciting career so far, and one that I plan to continue for many more years. This sport has transformed me from a kid who was just having a blast on the hill to the kid with an Olympic dream.”
A bit about me.
I started skiing in Whistler, as an extremely fortunate and ever eager 3-year-old. From there I moved through the local ski program and found myself starting ski racing at age 11, beginning a long career with the Whistler Mountain Ski Club. I raced alpine from the day I was introduced to it, until I graduated high school and found myself at a crossroads. During the pandemic, I had lost some of my passion for alpine, I still wanted to ski and knew that it was something I would always love – but didn’t feel like alpine was the place for me anymore.
Having done one ski cross race a year prior, I decided to make a transition and dedicate a season to this new sport. With the full support of my parents, I started the 2021/22 season in a brand-new environment, taking every opportunity I could get. It was incredibly rewarding. Coming in with a technical ability, every day I was progressing, trying new skills, and building up a new love of skiing all over again. I knew I had found a new home in ski cross.
2022 / 2023
The 2022/2023 season was my second season competing in ski cross, under a Calgary based team called Evolve. The love I had for the sport never faltered, and I built new skills and challenged new levels of competition I had never reached in alpine. I met new people, new coaches, learned a lot of rules of racing, and had a season that left me feeling more fulfilled and prouder than alpine ever did.
At the end of that season, I won World Juniors. It was an amazing and crazy experience that cemented my passion and future in this sport. Following that result, I competed in Nor-Am finals, claiming a second overall and winning a dedicated World Cup spot. At the end of April, I was very excited to be named to the Canadian Next Gen team.
2023 / 2024
This 2023/24 season was the longest I’ve ever had, filled with new challenges of all types. It gave me my first opportunity to start a World Cup on home soil, and the chance to ski up with the senior team at another World Cup in Europe. It gave me a hard-fought NorAm season, where I placed second overall and earned a dedicated world cup spot for next year. It was also a season that had me feeling frustrated and discouraged at times with some up and down results; a good lesson in resilience.
My last event of the year was my final World Juniors in Sweden. I had a newfound pressure defending my 2023 title and for the first time in Canadian Ski Cross history, I’m proud to say I managed the back-to-back win. Stay tuned for 2024/2025!
